Arrival in Dalhousie – Gateway to Adam’s Peak
By afternoon, guests will arrive in Dalhousie village, the main starting point for the Adam’s Peak pilgrimage trail. This small mountain village serves as the gathering point for thousands of pilgrims and travelers visiting the sacred mountain each year.
Guests will check in at Adams Peak Hotel, located close to the trail entrance and surrounded by forested hills and mountain streams.
The afternoon will be free for relaxation and preparation for the overnight hike.
Due to the early morning summit climb, dinner will be served earlier than usual at the hotel, allowing guests time to rest before the pilgrimage.
Adam’s Peak Night Hike
Later in the night (approximately 02:00 AM – 02:30 AM), guests will begin the climb to the summit of Adam’s Peak, one of the most revered mountains in Sri Lanka.
This sacred mountain holds religious importance for multiple faiths:
- Buddhists believe the footprint at the summit belongs to Lord Buddha
- Hindus believe it represents Lord Shiva
- Christians and Muslims associate the footprint with Adam
Because of its spiritual significance, Adam’s Peak attracts thousands of pilgrims every year, particularly during the pilgrimage season.

- Distance: Approximately 5 – 5.5 km (one way)
- Total Steps: Around 5,200 – 5,500 steps
